Documentation: Footer

The footer for the Cambrian College website is highly configurable, with a number of options to control the output and appearance of the footer. There are three primary areas to the footer. These include:

  • More Information (optional)
  • Contact Information (optional)
  • Logo/Menu area

Optional footer areas can be turned on using the options in the Footer Customization Options.

Primary Footer Options

The primary footer options mostly include options for setting the contact information that appears in the footer (and related fields, such as icons). The primary fields include:

Email Icon – Use this field to select the email icon that appears along with the email in the footer.

Email Text – Use this field to define the email address that appears in the footer.

Phone Icon – Use this field to select the email icon that appears along with the telephone number in the footer.

Phone Icon (Mobile) – Use this field to select the email icon that appears along with the telephone number in the footer on mobile.

Email Text – Use this field to define the telephone number that appears in the footer.

Address Icon (Mobile) – Use this field to select the email icon that appears along with the address in the footer on mobile.

Address – Use this field to define the address block that appears in the footer.

Copyright Line – Use this field to define that copyright line that appears at the very bottom of the page.

More Information

The footer settings page also includes options for controlling the items that appear in the More Information block. The More Information options panel looks like this:

To add a new item, simply click the Add Link button, select the page that this link should point to, and enter the text that should appear in the link. To edit a particular result, simply edit the contents of the Link and/or Text fields.

Deleting a Link

To delete a result from the list, simply hover over the the result that you would like to remove. Two icons should appear to the right of the item. Click on the red minus (-) symbol, as follows:

This will removed the row from the listing of links.

As noted above, the More Information and Contact Information blocks within the footer are optional. By default, these blocks are turned off, and must be activated on a page-by-page basis. To turn these blocks on, locate the Footer Customization on Page block (usually located in the sidebar). The block should look like this:

To activate either of these blocks on a page, simply check the appropriate checkbox and update the page.
