Math is everywhere – whether you are calculating profit for a business, measuring an angle to build a shelf, or working out the dosage for a patient’s medication!
The Cambrian College Math Competition provides an opportunity for college-bound math students to show off their skills against competitors from across the Greater Sudbury area and beyond.
This one-day competition is a fun-filled event where high school students will work as teams to solve challenging problems, test their knowledge, explore related college programs, and win some great prizes!
Competition Details
Teams of students will apply practical math skills to various career-related problems in four college subject areas:
- Business
- Trades and Engineering
- Health Sciences
- Community Services and Justice

Rules
The competition is open to students currently registered in grade 9 or 10 (teams of 2) Applied Math Courses or are expecting to take college-level math. The maximum number of participants from all four school boards is 60, and students will be registered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Competitors will participate in teams of two to solve challenging math problems in a variety of subject areas such as Business Math, Technical Math, Trades Math and Health Sciences Math.
