International Students – College Costs

It is important to determine your expense and sources of income to insure a positive college experience.

In order to obtain a Study Permit, all international students who apply to study in Canada must have sufficient financial resources without the need to work while studying Canada. For more information please visit Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

You will need to include tuition, books, accommodations, on-campus residence, etc. when determining your annual financial needs. This may vary depending on your personal situation and preferences. The international office makes every effort of inform our students of these opportunities. A note about health insurance

International students are not covered under the Ontario health system and must purchase insurance coverage individually. This is mandatory and already included in the tuition fee.

Paying in non-Canadian funds

It is easier and quicker for us if you pay your fees in Canadian funds. However, if paying in non-Canadian funds, please ask your bank to convert to Canadian or US funds. Because of the fluctuating nature of the dollar, we are unable to provide exact equivalents in currency other than Canadian.

Paying your fees

Cambrian College offers two unique options for all payments made outside of Canada. The easiest and quickest method is via Flywire. Founded by a former international student, Flywire’s mission is to save money for international students and their families that would otherwise be lost on bank fees and unfavorable foreign exchange rates. The second payment option is via bank wire with a transfer to TD Canada Trust.
