As Things Stand Today

In order to start your studies at Cambrian College, we require that you have applied and have been accepted to one of our programs, paid your tuition fee, and have a valid Study Permit or Letter of Introduction (LOI), or have read and consented to the Terms of Registration and Temporary Remote Learning Conditions.

Mandatory Apps To Download

Download The iCent App

The iCent app is a “One Stop Shop” providing information about your settlement, student services,  events and webinars, and more! The iCent App is mandatory for all students to download before they travel to Cambrian College for their studies. Important information will be collected and messages will be sent directly to you via this app.

Before students travel to Canada:

It is mandatory for students to take the following steps before travelling:

1) Download the iCent App here

2) Open the iCent App

3) Click on “Pre-Arrival Checklist” and submit the following:

  • COVID-19 Acknowledgement
  • Quarantine Plan
  • Airport Arrival Info

4) After you have arrived in Canada, click on the “Post-Arrival Checklist” and submit the following:

  • Arrival Check-in Form
  • Emergency Contact Info

Visit the “Arrival Accommodations” option to view information on hotels suggested by the College, as well as Reimbursement information.

Use The iCent App To Upload Mandatory Documents

iCent has added a feature to allow students to upload their mandatory immigration documents directly on to the iCent app.

These documents include:

  • Study Permit
  • Co-op Work Permit (if applicable)

We hope you are as excited for your first day as we are! To help you prepare, we have organized orientation events filled with exciting and important information to get you started on the road to success.

IN-PERSON

International Student Orientation

Date: August 30, 2023
Location: Student Life Centre (room # 2302)
Time: Session 1: 8:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Session 2: 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Get an introduction to the International team and services offered at Cambrian College. This event is followed by free snacks & refreshments in the fireside lounge!

Community Services Fair

Date: August 31, 2023
Location: Student Life Centre (room # 2302)
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The event is drop-in style and many members from the Sudbury and Cambrian community will be on-campus providing information and assistance to new International Students. Free snacks and refreshments will be provided!

Orientation Week

Date: September 5 – 8, 2023
Activity schedule highlights

Be sure to check your myCambrian for the full details of all the amazing activities that will be planned to start your year off right! Trust us, you won’t want to miss any of it!

Virtual Orientation

Your International Orientation also includes an Academic Orientation which will give you the chance to hear from your program coordinator and get specific program information before your regular classes start. You will receive an email before your semester begins with a link to a program video from your coordinator. This video will provide you with important program information. We encourage you to watch the video before you begin your studies.

You will also get access to Moodle modules through your myCambrian account which will prepare you for your classes. After completing all the modules, you will have the opportunity to receive a digital Certificate of Completion.

Accommodations

Residence – On-Campus Accommodations

The Townhouses at the Cambrian College Residence are available to International Students! Tour the Townhouses here.

Fees

  • First-semester international students qualify for special first-semester pricing at only $450/month for Townhouses.
  • $100 non-refundable application fee.

You are able to make payments to Residence using their Flywire Account, cambrianclc.flywire.com.

Application

You can apply for residence by completing the online application. It is mandatory to complete this application prior to your arrival.

NEW Fall 2022 – Co-Ed Rooms

Studying at Cambrian with your spouse? You can now stay together in residence! Note: both individuals must be current students at Cambrian College. You must submit your applications for residence separately.

Note: International students who qualify for the special pricing must commit to a full semester and pay for that semester in advance.

*Please Note: Residence rooms will be offered to eligible students, dependent upon availability*

Off-Campus Accommodations

We recommend that you live in Student Residence, particularly for your first year in Canada. However, you do have the choice of living off-campus. If so, you are responsible to find your own accommodations.

We have created a webpage  to help you. On this page, you will find links to off-campus housing, as well as information about your rights and responsibilities as tenants, and where you can go for help if you have an issue with your landlord.
