Congratulations to the 12 newest graduates of the Line Crew Ground Support training program.

Established in 2014, this very successful job readiness program has now prepared approximately 75 Aboriginal youth for careers in the power and construction industries. Approximately 80 percent of the graduates are working in the field, and many have progressed into Powerline apprenticeships with their employers.

The graduates have completed safety modules and hands-on training in job site tasks, including pole line construction, working at heights, hoisting and rigging, and crane operation.

This program is made possible by the Ontario Government Youth Skills Connections Program, as part of the Ontario Youth Job Strategy; and Gezhtoojig Employment & Training, in partnership with the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association, and Cambrian College.
