Cambrian College School of Music Presents Happy Birthday, John Dowland!

Posted on Friday January 4, 2013

Join us as we celebrate John Dowland’s 450th birthday with a concert dedicated to his compositions, including works for lute consort and virginal. This is a rare opportunity to hear exceptional music from a Renaissance repertoire. Dowland is best known for such melancholy compositions as Seaven Teares; his music was much in demand in his own time, and is now experiencing a revival due to the efforts of modern lutenists and guitarists.

Admission is free. The concert will be held at 12:30 p.m. in room 1176 and listeners are invited to bring lunch to the performance.

Date: Wednesday, February 27, 2012

Time: 12:30 p.m.

Location: Cambrian College, Barrydowne campus, Room 1176
