SUDBURY – Women interested in entering the trades now have a new opportunity. Cambrian College has received funding from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to launch a pre-apprenticeship level one carpentry training program, targeted specifically toward women.
The program, which includes classroom and shop hours, incorporates a two-month work placement that begins in September, a welding component and academic upgrading, if necessary.
The 37-week training program begins on February 18. It is free for all students and takes place during regular school hours. To learn more or to enrol for the program, please contact Charline Smith at charline.smith@cambrianinternational.ca or(705) 566-8101, ext. 7465. This program is funded by the government of Ontario.
