SUDBURY – For many families, reading books together is a bonding activity – one that the students at Cambrian College want to support.
In conjunction with Family Literacy Day on January 27, Cambrian College Early Childhood Education students are pleased to launch the third annual Share a Book campaign.
From January 27 to February 27, members of the public can donate books at the Main, New Sudbury, South End, Chelmsford, Valley East and Lively branches of the Greater Sudbury Public Library, as well as the One Stop Enrolment Centre at Cambrian’s Barrydowne Campus.
The campaign launch takes place January 26 at 10:30 a.m. in room 4202, the ECE classroom at Barrydowne campus.
Cambrian ECE students, who are organizing the campaign, will be speaking at the launch as will Chantal Gladu from Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“At Cambrian, building students’ potential means that they graduate with experience beyond the classroom,” says ECE Professor Emily Matheson. “This is an example of how we support our students to become well- rounded, socially responsible professionals who find rewarding careers.”
