Cambrian College graduates are ranked best in Ontario by employers, according to a provincial survey released today by Colleges Ontario. More than 95 percent of employers who participated in the annual Key Performance Indicator (KPI) survey responded that they were "satisfied or very satisfied" with their new hires, which include graduates from Cambrian college programs in 2013-14.

"This result speaks to the excellent career preparation that our students engage in and the fact that they know how to leverage all of their skills and knowledge on the job," said President Bill Best. "Every program at Cambrian also benefits from industry-experienced faculty and valuable input by employers on a regular basis that ensures graduates have mastered the required technical skills, and that they are ready to meet professional expectations. In general, employers are impressed by our graduates’ hands-on experience and knowledge, but also by their problem-solving and people skills, and by their readiness to work," Best explained.

Cambrian College’s 95.8 percent approval rating from employers is above the provincial average, which is 88.1 percent. Recent graduates surveyed rate Cambrian College among the top five in Ontario, with 83.9 percent of 2013-14 Cambrian graduates stating that they were "satisfied or very satisfied" with their college experience. Cambrian is among the leaders of Ontario Colleges in all five major categories that are part of the survey.

Across Ontario, 84 percent of College graduates report that they are working within six months after graduation, and for Cambrian graduates, this figure is slightly better, at 85.3 percent. Full KPI survey results are available on the Colleges Ontario website.
