Cambrian Camerata: The French Connection

Posted on Tuesday March 19, 2013

Cambrian College is pleased to announce a new concert platform developed to feature our highly-esteemed adjunct faculty. It will feature music for violin, guitar, piano and flute by famous French composers, including Faure, Poulenc, and Ibert, as well as lesser-known but wonderfully gifted living French Canadian composers Claude Gagnon and Patrick Roux. The concert takes place Wednesday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m. at Cambrian College in room 2226.

Established in 1973, the Cambrian Concert Series has produced over 300 concerts. The Series is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the establishment of the Cambrian Camerata, which takes its inspiration from the 16th century Florentine group of distinguished philosophers and musicians that gathered to discuss and guide trends in music and drama. Cambrian’s inaugural Camerata will attract world-class players, educators, and artists living right here in Sudbury!

Tickets are $15 for students and seniors and $20 for adults, with all proceeds supporting music scholarships for Cambrian students.

Date: Wednesday, March 20, 2013
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Cambrian College, Barrydowne campus, Room 2226
