Cambrian College Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) students and faculty will be hosting their 2nd annual Health Fair on Saturday, March 16, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rainbow Centre.
The Cambrian team will be setting up 24 booths inside the Rainbow Centre to provide visitors with demonstrations, information and expertise about healthy lifestyle choices and other medical topics, as well as details about the College’s Health Sciences programs.
The Health Fair shows students’ commitment to the health and wellness of Greater Sudbury residents as they share their skills and knowledge in a public forum. The Fair is also an example of Cambrian’s 4D learning experience, which takes learning beyond classes and labs, and provides hands-on, résumé-building experience that benefits students and the community.
Cambrian Nursing students are very active in community initiatives at the local and international level. Cambrian faculty and students have participated in a variety applied research projects, including studies investigating home healthcare technology for seniors and collaborative education. In addition, in 2010, a team of Cambrian students and faculty travelled to southern India to provide nursing care to remote, under-serviced regions.
