Cambrian College’s first- and second-year Early Childhood Education (ECE) students raised $200 for this year’s Teddy Bear Picnic and $200 for Cambrian’s Student Food Bank. They presented a cheque to the Teddy Bear Picnic organizers and to the Students’ Administrative Council (SAC) during the annual Teddy Bear Picnic auction on November 5.
The annual Teddy Bear Picnic campaign is organized by Cambrian’s Police Foundation students and raises funds for the Canadian Cancer Society in support of pediatric cancer research. Cambrian’s Food Bank is operated by SAC and enables students who are experiencing financial constraints to access non-perishable food items and toiletries throughout the year.
The students’ fundraising efforts were enhanced by a generous $100 gift card donated by the Food Basics on Lasalle and a $100 cheque that was donated by an anonymous individual.
“I am very proud of the students in the ECE program who demonstrated an amazing commitment to two worthy causes, “said Professor Emily Matheson. “I am continually inspired by the dedication of our students and the generosity of the Sudbury and Cambrian communities.”
