SUDBURY – Five thousand engagements. Four months. One successful launch.
When Cambrian College began its strategic planning process last fall, it did something different – gave all members of the community the opportunity to provide feedback on and input into the strategic planning process. Cambrian College’s engagement strategy included innovative approaches to garner feedback including speaking to grade 7 and 8 students, parents, community members and local industry leaders.
The first step of the process involved asking what was most important for the future of post-secondary education. From this feedback, 20 strategic themes emerged, and more than 2,000 votes were cast online to identify the top 10.
The second step of the process, taking place over the next six weeks, involves exploring the top 10 themes through in-person focus groups and weekly online discussions at futurecambrian.ca.
Everyone is invited to take part in one of the upcoming engagement sessions to give their opinion on what matters most to them for the future of both Cambrian and postsecondary education. Light snacks and a meal will be served at each session.
