The Cambrian International department at Cambrian College supports International students with their journey by helping to recruit students from over 60 countries as well as support international students in their transition to Canada and throughout their time at Cambrian College.  

The Cambrian International department is dedicated to assisting new international students in their journey to coming to Cambrian through pre-arrival services, settlement assistance, international orientation, immigration advising and more!

Awards and Bursaries

International students are eligible for awards and bursaries in the second semester of school. Awards and bursaries may be attained through academic performance and community engagement and are available in the fall, winter and spring semesters. Cambrian International offers current students assistance with immigration regulations, updates, details on required documents and more! At Cambrian College, we have two experienced and dedicated Regulated International Student Immigration Advisors (RISIA), who are licensed with the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) to advise students on their immigration documents. We can provide advice if you are a current student at Cambrian college or a recent graduate from a program at Cambrian College.

We are able to provide advice in the following areas:
  • Study permits
  • Working on and off-campus
  • Co-op work permits
  • Temporary resident visas (TRV)
  • Electronic Travel Authorizations (eTA)
  • Post-graduation work permits
  • Permits and TRVs for spouse/common-law partner and/or children
  • Inviting family to visit

Please note: we will not provide any advice on a permanent residency application

What to provide during your meeting

When you meet with your immigration advisor, please keep a copy of your immigration documents with you, if you email us please include the following:

  • Please type “Immigration enquiry” and your student ID in the subject line
  • Your name
  • Your citizenship(s)
  • All permit and visa expiration dates (if applicable)
  • Currently in Canada (YES or NO)

If you request specific assistance, please provide detailed information including applicable documents.

  • Working in Canada

  • Post-graduation work permit
  • Co-op work permit
